Our Backyard Baby Shower and Details

Our baby shower and our own ‘Father of the Bride’ moment

Our baby shower day felt nothing short of magical. After watching the forecast all week, we braced ourselves for rain and gloomy skies, the only day in the entire forecast calling for terrible weather. But somehow, just an hour before guests began arriving, the clouds parted and the sun shined down on us all afternoon, as if the universe had decided to give us the celebration we had dreamed of for the past four years. We chose to host the shower at our home because it felt incredibly meaningful to welcome our daughter into a space already filled with so many memories. Every detail, from the garden blooms to the tablescapes, felt even more special knowing it was happening under our own roof. Throughout the day, I couldn’t help but think of ‘Father of the Bride’, my all-time favorite movie, and those scenes of family, love, laughter, and a home transformed for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. It truly felt like our own version of that moment, made even sweeter as we gathered with the people we love most to celebrate the little girl who will soon make us a family of four.

A special thank you to the vendors who helped make this day extra special:

Photographer: By Bridget, Tent and rentals: McCarthy’s, Florals: The Plot, Catering: Curly‘s, Tabletop: Petunia Rose, Linens: Tesoro, Desserts: Fairy Cakes

It was hard to choose out of more than 300 photos, but here’s a few that embody what the day looked and felt like along with links to some of the details that helped make the day run smoothly. And if you need baby shower outfit inspo, see this post for what we wore!

The Details

This ‘don’t say baby’ game was fun and easy to incorporate through out the party!

Since we were unsure of the weather and temps, we were ready to provide guests either these beautiful fans or these pashminas – thankfully the sun and temps were on our side!

Could not get over these custom cocktail napkins, it was the perfect way to include our fur baby.

My sister has become a sourdough queen, so she so kindly made 40 mini buns and placed them in these cute bags for each guest to take home.

I had a vision of placing the adorable and delish desserts from Fairy Cakes onto silver serving trays and placing them down the elongated table and we did jus that after finding this set of 6-serving trays.

We had the servers wear these cute pink and white striped aprons and after, I gifted them to my mom and sisters, so they can always remember the day.

We wanted to keep things easy for the bar, so we used these stemless glass-free wine glasses for all drinks (including non-alcoholic) along with white bamboo straws and topped with custom swizzle sticks.

Fell in love with this personal bouquet Curt had our florist design for me, it was filled of florals I love including lily of the valley and even included mini strawberries – he’s always so thoughtful.

What I Wore for my Backyard Baby Shower

Outfit details: SIMKHAI Acacia Draped Jersey Maxi Dress , Dior Bow Heeled Slingback Sandal, Jennifer Behr Morgana Earrings and Curt’s outfit details: Gucci Cotton Piquet Polo, Cut’s AO 5-Pocket Pant, Hermes Trip Espadrille

Two weeks ago, we celebrated our baby girl with the sweetest baby shower surrounded by family and friends. For the occasion, I wanted a look that felt feminine, timeless, and comfortable enough to enjoy every moment of the day. I chose a dress that beautifully highlighted my bump while still feeling effortless and elegant. Soft, romantic details and a flattering silhouette made it the perfect choice for such a special celebration, and I felt both confident and completely myself as we toasted this exciting new chapter. Through out this pregnancy, I’ve really focused on pieces that are not necessarily maternity but work with a growing baby bump – this Simkhai dress did just that and I’m excited to wear it again one day!

I’ve linked my exact look above and below along with similar looks, in case you’d like to re-create. I’ve also started a whole collection dedicated to all things pregnancy here, from baby shower looks + party details to nursery decor and what I’ll be packing in my hospital bag.

Crystal Earrings

These crystal earrings are the perfect finishing touch for any occasion, especially bridal events. A modern take on the classic drop earring, featuring a delicate trailing pear-cut crystal.

Pink Midi Dress

This draped jersey midi dress features flattering ruching and a fluid silhouette that nicely complemented my bump. It’s a perfect option for special occasions throughout pregnancy or even without a bump!

Dior Slingbacks

This Dior heel is a timeless classic, and I love its elegant silhouette. The refined design makes it a versatile piece that pairs beautifully with both special occasion and everyday looks.

Snapback Returns Brand Dinner

Back in November, we had a reason to celebrate the official launch of SnapBack Returns — an amazing new iOS app created by Alexis Jones that makes returns effortless by helping you never miss a return window. On top of tracking your purchases and deadlines, SnapBack Returns takes things a step further by offering scheduled return pickups through their partner, DoorDash.

Imagine simply leaving your packaged returns outside your door and having a DoorDash professional pick them up and drop them off at FedEx, UPS, USPS, and more. No lines, no errands, no stress.

The app itself is completely free to use for tracking purchases and return windows. The DoorDash pickup option has a small fee, and I’m happy to share my code karina1 so you can try a return pickup for just $1.

With so many beautiful moments captured by Sarah Bridgeman Photography, I had to share a full recap below! A special thank you to the team that helped make this evening come to life – Planning + design: KC You there // Florals: The Plot // Venue + Catering: Wayland Hall // Draping install: Tesoro Event Rentals // Tabletop rentals: Petunia Rose China // Custom signage: B in a Bonnet // Marquee letters: Alphalit Buffalo

A Peek Inside My Closet

Outfit details: Look 1 – Eddy x McKenzie DePinto Lucy Dress, Eddy x McKenzie DePinto Melly Jacket (both on sale!), Prada Ivory platforms (similar) // Look 2 – The Nat Note x Dillard’s Lele feather cuff set

I recently invited Buffalo Spree Magazine into my closet – a guest room we thoughtfully converted into a wardrobe while still preserving space to comfortably welcome visitors. Seeing the full spread come to life both in print and online was such a fun way to kick off the new year (with beautiful words by Erin Habes and stunning photography by Meccay Photography). Bridget captured the space perfectly – it felt very Coveteur in the best way.

We worked with California Closets to bring the vision to life, and while it was an investment, it was something I had always dreamed of having once we owned a home. Before this, we were living in a one-bedroom apartment in New York City, so creating a dedicated space, especially one designed around my accessories, felt incredibly meaningful. And that’s exactly what we did.

I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into my favorite room. To help you recreate and organize your own closet, I’ve linked the products I used in this space below, along with a few pieces I highly recommend.
