My Forever Favorite Classic Jacket: The Lady Jacket

The lady jacket is a staple in my closet and has been for quite some time. A classic silhouette that looks beautiful with a matching shift dress, like the one I’m wearing or draped over your shoulders with a cute tank and pants. Below I’m sharing my exact look from one of my favorite brands along with other jacket options.

Jacquard Lady Jacket

A perfect take on the lady jacket, from Veronica Beard, the jacquard fabric, black detailing, and patch pockets make it classic and versatile whether worn with the matching shift dress or dressed down with a comfy pair of slacks.

Nutmeg Lady Jacket

This wool blend fabric and monochromatic details make this nutmeg lady jacket perfect for fall. The boxy look would pair perfectly with a great pair of denim and the piece comes at a great price point.

An experience – and a Victoria Beckham dress – I’ll never forget

I was ecstatic when the New York Botanical Garden invited me to design a table at their notoriously beautiful gala at The Plaza Hotel. My first thought was, what will my table design be and of course my second, what will I wear?! Queue, Victoria Beckham and her impeccable taste. See below for exactly what I wore and similar pieces!

Our Table Design for the 2024 New York Botanical Garden Orchid Dinner

A gorgeous table we designed for the New York Botanical Garden Orchid Dinner 2024, including lush greenery and gold place settings.

My first table at the New York Botanical Garden Orchid Dinnner and certainly not my last!

I was honored when the NY Botanical Garden team asked me to design a table for their annual dinner at The Plaza Hotel. The theme for this year’s New York Botanical Garden Orchid Dinner was orchids in fashion. In order to find inspiration, I looked into my favorite fashion designers and landed on Christian Dior. With an affinity for his garden, where he would find constant inspiration, it drove my own inspiration to create an ode to one of my favorite designers. See below for more details!

Even better than I’d hoped, our table design featuring florals by The Plot mimicked a lush garden growing organically out from its centerpiece, giving guests the feeling that they were outside among the flowers and moss. While the dinner featured centerpieces in a variety of brilliant color palettes, I chose to lean into the understated elegance of simple and natural white and green.

Proceeds from The Orchid Dinner support the Garden’s global plant research and conservation initiatives, as well as programs in horticulture and education with efforts to protect the Earth’s biodiversity.

A Ralph Lauren Holiday Tablescape

Is there anything more classic than Ralph Lauren?

It felt fitting when planning out our holiday entertaining to include these luxe pieces from Ralph Lauren Home. While the holiday tablescape was ready for the season, just about all of the dinnerware and glassware could also be repurposed for a non-holiday table by swapping out the charger and florals. In a classic holiday tablescape, natural elements are key

As a wedding planner and event designer, I’m well aware of the effect florals have on a tablescape. Here, we settled on fresh white anemones, red berries, and greenery in small vessels throughout the table. We also incorporated pine cones to channel the natural beauty (and scents!) of the season.

Classic Ralph Lauren Bear Dessert Plates

Ralph Lauren’s iconic Polo Bear is dressed in his best evening wear on these playfully luxe dessert plates. Framed in gold for a stately appeal.

Plaid Wexford Dinner Plate

Taking inspiration from the same plaid pattern featured throughout Ralph Lauren’s renowned restaurant The Polo Bar, the Wexford dinner plate is defined by its classic border. The timeless design is elevated by 24K gold trim, which adds a touch of shine to your table.

Tartan Bear Throw Pillow

Ralph Lauren’s beloved Polo Bear is embroidered at the front of this festive throw pillow, which is crafted from wool in a classic tartan pattern with plush cotton velvet at the reverse.

With a classic focal point like Ralph Lauren’s tartan plaid and bear motif, accents of gold and white are all that’s needed to complete the scene.

I absolutely loved how our Friendsgiving table turned out to host ten of our closest friends. I leaned into print, with this Julia Berolzheimer x Pottery Barn dinnerware collaboration and florals by local Buffalo floral designer The Plot, to match. Don’t shy away from print, texture, and layering. Fall is all about abundance, so lean into it by pairing beautiful fall florals with your favorite prints and patterns.
Include a couple of statement pieces, like these incredible vintage parrot candlesticks (you can find them here or search for similar designs on Etsy).
Bring the outdoors in with foliage-forward floral designs. You can incorporate dried stems too for added texture and interest.
Dine by candlelight! It sets the tone for a cozy evening inside and the soft lighting illuminates your table design.

We’re so excited to finally share our first major home renovation, our primary bathroom! Since we spend so much time in our bedroom, we felt it was necessary to start there – I’ll be sharing that renovation soon. We started the project in January which was fully completed in May. In the midst of Covid delays for the bathroom, we decided to add on additional projects like painting throughout, new moulding, new doors and a coffered ceiling in the living room. It’s safe to say, we kept our contractor and his team busy! Our goal with this bathroom was crisp, clean lines to ultimately feel like our favorite hotel bathroom. Next on the horizon, the kitchen! I’ll share future updates in my home section so stay tuned.

Contractor: DRJS Construction – while they do not have a website (or social media, for that matter) you can reach Dave at 716.907.4316. Dave and his team really understood the quality of work and design we were looking for. Naturally, we wanted things we saw in photos or just assumed would work and though they were sometimes details that they either hadn’t done before or knew would be a challenge, they made it happen. I could not recommend them enough!
